Drs. Peter Block, Deepak Bhatt and Anthony DeMaria discuss results of the VEST Trial during this ACC.18 Day 1 highlight video. The VEST Trial (Vest Prevention of Early Sudden Death Trial) evaluated use of the LifeVest wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) in patients who had a recent MI and a low-EF.
Recommended use of the WCD is included in the AHA/ACC/HRS Guidelines for a wide range of patients at risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD), including post-MI, with or without revascularization, and those with a newly diagnosed non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy.
