Clinical Update

  • Patient prescribed wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) and discharged two days later.
  • On day of discharge, patient experienced an episode of ventricular tachycardia (VT) at a rate of 242 beats per minute.
  • WCD appropriately detected VT and broadcast pre-shock alarms. Patient fell unconscious and WCD delivered a 150J biphasic treatment shock 58 seconds after detection, terminating VT.

  • Patient received implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD).
