Cardiac angiography post-three stent deployment in LAD.
Result of successful balloon angioplasty.
Clinical Course
- Intervention performed on left anterior descending artery (LAD).
- Three drug-eluting stents deployed from mid-portion to proximal portion.
- Angiography revealed good results with 15% residual stenosis in mid-portion.
- Non-compliant balloon inflated within DES including overlapping regions.
- Angiography revealed good results; 60-70% stenosis in distal portion of LAD noted.
- Following day, patient experienced cardiogenic shock and deteriorated to Killip Class IV.
- Balloon angioplasty performed to address 60-70% stenosis in distal portion of LAD.
- 10-20% residual stenosis observed.
- Patient received left ventricular assist device (LVAD) sent to CCU on continued antithrombin therapy.
- LVEF =25%
