Cardiac angiography post-three stent deployment in LAD.

Result of successful balloon angioplasty.

Clinical Course

  • Intervention performed on left anterior descending artery (LAD).
    • Three drug-eluting stents deployed from mid-portion to proximal portion.
    • Angiography revealed good results with 15% residual stenosis in mid-portion.
  • Non-compliant balloon inflated within DES including overlapping regions.
    • Angiography revealed good results; 60-70% stenosis in distal portion of LAD noted.
  • Following day, patient experienced cardiogenic shock and deteriorated to Killip Class IV.
  • Balloon angioplasty performed to address 60-70% stenosis in distal portion of LAD.
    • 10-20% residual stenosis observed.
  • Patient received left ventricular assist device (LVAD) sent to CCU on continued antithrombin therapy.
  • LVEF =25%
